Tax F.A.Q.

Twice a year, Campbell County sends out a bill for real estate taxes. This notice may come directly to you or to your mortgage company (if they pay your taxes out of escrow). 

You can also look up your property online in the Tax Inquiry form on the Treasurer's Office page (click here). Click the "Real Estate Tax" option and then click "Name." Enter your last name and then first name with no comma. On the results page, you should see all property under that name in Campbell County. Click the "Select" button on the property you wish to view. The total tax due will be at the bottom of that page. Please note that if your property has multiple parcels, there are separate tax bills for each one!
Yes! You can visit the Treasurer's Office page (click here) to make a payment. Click the "TAX/Other Payments" option. This should take you to official Campbell County payment page on Xpress-pay/Elavon. Then, select "Real Estate Tax payment" from the drop-down menu and click "Next." 

From here, you will need the relevant account number(s) and the amount you owe. You can find that on your tax bill or on the Online Lookup (click here). If you want to pay on multiple accounts, enter the account numbers separated by commas. Put the total amount you wish to pay in the "Amount" box. Follow on-screen instructions to add your payment method and submit your payment.

Please note that all online payments have a 2.65% processing fee because it is a third-party processor.
Don't wait until your property is in danger of auction to take action! The best thing you can do is pay all outstanding taxes and fees as soon as possible. You can pay your bill online (click here), by bringing your payment to the Treasurer's Office at 85 Carden Lane in Rustburg, VA, or mailing it to P.O. Box 37, Rustburg, VA 24588. Be sure to confirm the payoff amount with the Treasurer prior to submitting payment!

If you aren't able to pay all at once, don't give up! In most cases, the Treasurer can offer payment plans of up to 72 months in order to pay off outstanding taxes, fees, and interest (VA Code § 58.1-3965).
You can pay in person by taking your cash or check to the Treasurer's Office at 85 Carden Lane in Rustburg. The office is open 8:30AM - 5:00PM Monday through Friday. You can also drop it off in the dropbox outside of the entrance to the Citizen Services Building. Be sure to include the account numbers you are paying on so your payment can be credited correctly! If dropping off on the due date, be sure to drop off by 5PM!

You can also mail in your payment. Payments must be postmarked on or before the due date so it may be helpful to have it postmarked at a postal location. To submit by mail, be sure to include your payment as well as account number(s) and send to:
